Feeding Time

Warrior 4, you drink 5 oz now.   You wake up about 2x after  midnight (at 2 am and 4 am or 1 am and 3 am)  Yey!   You are sleeping longer especially after giving you the 

bottle.  I'm so glad that you are very flexible.  You are nursing well.  You also take any nipples.  Wait that didn't sound very good.   You preferred the NUK nipples but are now able to take any.   There is no nipple confusion.    

Anyway, last week Thursday you weighed 10 lbs.  You are more alert and loves to listen to people talk to you.  You love to give us smiles.  You have the cutest face when you cry.  You turn all red in the face.  Princess loves it when you give that long lip look.    

Your face is clearing up.  You hardly break out now.  No more heat rash.

Here you are with Mama.  Guess what she calls you.  She calls you "BehBeh CaKe!"  I think that is so cute.  It matches you.   Sweet smelling  and yummy looking!

Seen and Heard

Warrior 2 pointed out my bulging belly in a picture and this is what Warrior 3 had to say.

"Mom, you are growing cream cheese!"  I couldn't help but laugh.   Princess then made the correction.."don't you mean cottage cheese?"

15 YEARS

Came home from a long day of going "gala-gala" (galavanting) visiting Mama and Papa's friends/relatives.  I was tired.  Gotta go teach yoga.  Gave Warrior 4 a bath and then the King was like "Hey Lady! Go out there and check your messages."  As I reach the living room to get the phone to check my messages, Princess had already checked and said that there were none for me.  So, I turn to the kitchen to see what Mama was doing and there these sweet babies were waiting on the dinner table.  Oh, the King has done it again!  He got me bouquets of  flowers but only this time...they are EDIBLE so I can't complain that these flowers are just going to die and goes to waste.  =)  After dinner everyone (well, mostly) got to enjoy  these sweet treats.  YUMiLiciOus!    

Wow!  15 years!  We are older,  wiser, fatter and richer!  Richer  because (no mo plenty money) but we are blessed with  5 wonderful, helpful, crazy, moody, talented, cranky, smart and healthy  children.  

Thank you Honey for everything that you do for us.  You da bomb diggity!  I love it when you play the piano. It is one of the reasons I fell in lob with you.   You were one weirdo!  But when you got behind those black and white keys...aaaaaaaaaaaaah.  You just made me "KILIG TO THE BONES" "MAGO'DAI" you make me "GIGIL"!  You are my everything.  

Thanks for putting up with my mentalnEss and confusionEss.  Remember that I don't do it to annoy you.  Love you lots with all the added FAT  in my body.  HAPPY 15 YEARS  HONEYBUNS!

No More Eyebrows!

The King loves his Warriors and Princess!  Well, he enjoys them and plays with them.   This day in particular...he noticed Warrior 4 doesn't have any visible eyebrows.  oh, yes...Warrior 4 has eyebrows, it just hasn't darkened yet.  So, he decided to fix that.  Here is the King's solution to Warrior 4's invisible eyebrows.  He decided to give him the "mad"  look.  Thanks to good old electrical tape, it's not a permanent solution...just temporary.  Thank goodness.  Funny looking  Warrior but kinda cute.  NO, Warrior 4 was not hurt in the process.  I know because he didn't cry when I took the tape off.  And King  ...you one funny King!  Maybe someday Warrior 4 will get you back.  Ha!

Mama and Papa are Here!

Well, Mama and Papa finally made it!  Yey!  Princess, Warrior 4 and Moi went to pick them up at the airport, while the three Warriors stayed with the King.  (The King was not done with work so I dropped the boys where the KING  was at.)  At the Shumway's.   

You know it's good when people come over to stay  because it forces me to D- clutter our little space.  I still have a lot junk that I need to get rid of.  I can be a hoarder and a pack rat.  Anyway...every Gooey Babe worked hard in clearing our "junk room" so Mama and Papa can have a place to slumber.  They had to put  up with my nagging and the  yelling of the big bad witch of Laie.  =) Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!  That took a lot of energy.

 Even Warrior 4 was beat.  He was so tired that he slept the whole way to and from the airport and then throughout dinner.  The King woke him up during FHE.    I think letting him cry this afternoon made him tired.  He actually showed some tears.

Here are some shots after FHE.  Warrior 2 shared a thought about REPENTANCE and that it is likened unto a pencil with an eraser.  That Heavenly Father will erase our mistakes if we forsake our wrong doing. 

 We also played bonkers for our activity.  Fun and I found out that my reaction is not as strong.  My brain couldn't think fast enough to pick on someone.  Anyway, we had Mamon for dessert.

My Blessings

You know Heavely Father really  knows each one of us and our needs.  We've been blessed tremendously.  Spiritually, physically and financially. I just have a lot to be grateful for.  I am grateful for people's generosity.  We were showered with lots of love and many wonderful gifts for baby and for some reason we still continue to  get gifts even now.    

I am also grateful for the gospel.  My calling  as the Laurels' teacher and the King's calling.  With my calling it has been a very good experience.  I don't freak out as much as I used to.  I like the leaders as well as the girls' examples and testimonies.   I am learning a lot from preparing my lessons.  It reminds me of my youthful days.   Prepping for YW lesson has helped me give an impromptu lesson for FHE.  =0  Yup!  I don't have to prepare another lesson for Monday's FHE.  How cool is that?   Heavenly Father knows how to take care of us.  He has His hands in all things.  I truly am grateful.  This is all for now.

Tuesday, June 9
I woke up at 5am to get ready and met everyone in the ballroom for breakfast at 6. We had an American-style breakfast, (meaning no spam or rice) there was eggs, bacon, fruits, bagels, pastries, juice, and milk. There was another choir there from Nebraska (or Florida) and we exchanged songs with them. We did our chant, and they did some African song/medley. It was pretty cool and they were really good. After breakfast, we headed to Arlington National Cemetery (the nations most sacred shrine). We walked through the cemetery looking at all the headstones of all those fallen war heroes. We walked up the hill, took some stairs, and went to look at President Kennedy's grave, and the Eternal Flame. President Kennedy's wife and kids are buried alongside President Kennedy. Next, we walked to the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers. The tomb holds the remains of American Soldiers from World Wars 1 & 2, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.

THE PRINCESS IS HERE!!!!

HEY!!!! It's the princess, back from her Washington DC/New York tour with the Ko'olauloa Children's Choir. It was a really great experience. We traveled with Smithsonian Student Travel (SST) and Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP). They made sure we saw the most important things around New York and DC (which was a lot). Since we only had 6 days to see all the sights the tour was kind of rushed, but that's OK... i still had fun. We got about 3-5 hours of sleep each day because of all the sightseeing, but i didn't mind. OK, now for the day-by-day agenda.
Sunday, June 7 ~ DAY 1
The family went to sacrament meeting and went home right after. We had a family prayer and we said our good-byes. =( Dad dropped me off at Lisa Wagner's house at 11:30 am. Then roll call and the chaperone's passed out name tags, snacks, and coupons (for our shopping). Our bus came at 12. We loaded the luggage's onto the bus, we had prayer meeting, last-minute instructions, and we were off by 12:30. We reached the airport at 1pm and had to check in all 40 kids (and chaperone's) and their luggage's (good thing everyone only had 1 luggage) it took us about an hour. Our United Airlines flight boarded at 4:15pm, so we had 2 hours to kill. It was an 8 1/2 hour plane ride. I couldn't sleep. The only fun thing during the flight was when lightning hit our plane. The plane shook violently, the TVs and the lights went off for a minute. This wasn't a non-stop flight to DC, so we had to stop in Chicago. We got to Chicago at 6 am (midnight Hawaii time) and it was now Monday. It was like time sped up.
Monday, June 8 ~ DAY 2
We did so much this day.We almost missed our plane but, the pilot kindly waited for us. Another 2 1/2 hours in a plane... I think I'm getting sick of planes. We reached DC at 9 am, picked up our luggage's and met our tour guide Becky. It was really hot and sunny. She took us to the Fashion Centre (a really big mall) to eat breakfast. We then headed to the Smithsonian Institution. There are 19 museums and 9 research centers, it's HUGE!!!!! I went to the Air and Space Museum, and the National Museum of American History. The Air and Space Museum is all about, well... Air and Space. There are huge models of planes, spaceships, and even missiles. The Wright brothers are also there, along with their first successful airplane that is displayed at eye-level. IN the Museum of American History, you learn about Abraham Lincoln, Medicine, the Civil War. You could see the First Ladies inaugural gowns, and Julia Child's actual kitchen. we then had lunch at the food court in the museum. (did you know that each one of the 19 museums has their own food court). We left the Smithsonian and headed to the State Capitol. We got a tour of the State Capitol (man it's HUGE!!!!!) We saw the Rotunda, the National Statuary Hall, and the Supreme Court Chamber. We had to leave early because we ran overtime. We rushed to meet group 2 at the Hart Senate Office Building. We met Senator Daniel Akaka and we sang our chant for him. The acoustics were the best!!!! We sounded awesome!!! Senator Akaka said a few words and answered our questions, and then we took with him pictures. We hopped on our buses and headed to Union Station to eat dinner. It is gigantic!!!! I mean just HUGE, and there's even real gold on the ceiling. After dinner, we had a night tour of Washington DC. We went to the Washington Monument, the Korean Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the World War 2 Memorial, and we passed by the Pentagon. And that was it for that day. We drove to our hotel in Maryland, checked in, and went right to sleep, excited for the days to come.

What a Summer!

Shouldn't summer be fun?  No work and  all play!  Nay I say.  Work first then play.  So, here are the Gooey Babes in action.

Well, everyone is home and they sure have been very helpful.  Work before play.  Sure they grumble and bicker at times but they still continue to work.   =)  The Warriors were desperate to play video games today so, here they are working.  

Warrior 1 and 2!  Are you working or hardly working?  Let's go!  Move it!  

The Princess is their boss in tackling this task of sorting these cans and bottles.

How are we doing with that "supot"  Warrior 2?  Can't get it to open?  Come on.  It's hot out there.

Well, they got to play for an hour before taking these babies in the recycling center.  They made  $45 and some change.  Pretty good, huh!
