gramma n grampa's visit

Well, Friday night Gramma and Grampa Goo came.  I didn't know what time they came in because I was comatose at 11 pm.  I didn't even hear Warrior 4 wake up.  The King took care of him.  The next day, we had a service project at Hukilau Beach at 7am.  We all went...well except for Gramma who had  Golf tournament and Princess who was at choir rehearsal.   Grampa took care of Warrior 4 while we picked up rubbish ( more  drift wood than rubbish).  It was a good day.

After the service project we headed down to Hilo Hattie.  Grampa needed an Aloha shirt for his class reunion.

GOT GAS?

Well, yesterday was Warrior 4's follow up checkup.  His weight is now up to 7 lbs and 8 oz.  Yey!  He gained!  The doctor was concerned about my nursing and giving him the bottle.  He said to not hold back on the formula if he wants more.  Don't just give him 2 oz.  try increasing it to 4 oz.  even 6 oz.   Also, since I'm going to be home with him that I should breast feed more during the day and give him the bottle at night so we can all sleep better.  Okay, makes sense.

Anyway...Warrior 4 has been gassy (is that how you spell gassy?) a lot.  He hasn't made poop all last night and all day.  I was kind of getting worried.  is he constipated?   i say that because I too have been gassy and am a little constipated...eeew too much info...i can't believe i'm sharing that with you all...eeew.. Well, he eats what I eat!  it is possible that he could also be constipated.   Anyway, long story short...that early morning..midnight...I was tired and all Knocked Out...the King got up to feed him and said that he POOPED  for him.  mmmm. creamy mustard!

What a relief!   I have no idea what I ate that made him gassy and not poop for a day and a half.  Hellur?!

What to do in 6 minutes...

this is taking a long time to upload!

This is what little Warrior 4  does.  It's not the best picture but I thought I'd capture some of his goofy facials and sounds that he makes at this time.

Memorial Day!

Here we are again!  A year later back at Kualoa Beach Park for the King's work party.  I forgot to bring the camera so I had to borrow the King's iPhone to take these shots.

Warrior 2 cruizin with Warrior 4.

Warrior 2 was a little under the weather today.

"I am hungry! Feed me!"  Warrior 2 to the rescue.  What a helpful brother.

Warrior 3 waited all morning and was finally able to go in the water after lunch.

Bonding with Daddy.
Is Daddy trying to pacify you with his finger again?
A little windy.  Is that why your eyes are closed, Warrior 4?
Warrior 3 and one of his many rock and shell collections.  I forgot to take a picture of a coral that he picked up that looked like the number seven.
Here comes the water!   Take me for a dip, Dad!
Here is Warrior 4 getting his feet wet.

Looks like he is enjoying it.  The water has a calming effect on him.
The water is actually nice and warm.
Warrior 4 looks so tiny compared to the King.

Where is my little Warrior?
There he is!

Yey!  Warrior 1 mastered to balance on this thing.  I  don't even know what it is called.  Okay, the Gooey Babes tell me "IT'S AN INDO BOARD!"  Pretty cool!  All the Goo Babes tried it but didn't get a chance to take pictures of everyone.   I didn't think of using the King's iPhone sooner.

Arrow of Light

Congratulations Warrior 2!  You are moving on!
i forgot what this award was for. something to do with engineers?
Here is his Arrow of Light award.
Sis. Purcell giving Warrior 2 his certificates.
The human bridge.  Transition from cub scouts to boy scouts.
Changing of the band from blue to green.  It is no longer red.
Warrior 2's new scout master.  Bro. Draper
Check it out I too get a pin!

Pray for Comfort

Friday night  we went over to a friend's house for FHE and Warrior 2 was looking at a book and  showed Warrior 3  some pictures from the book that Warrior 3 thought were scary.   Anyway, came home after 10 pm and the Warriors stayed up playing until 2 am.  At 2:30, I noticed the hallway light on.  I get up to turn it off.  A moment later it was back on.  Well, Warrior 3 was still in the bathroom brushing his teeth and found him in tears.  I asked him what was wrong and he said that Warrior 2 showed him some scary pictures and wants the lights on.

Well, I told him to hurry up and go to bed.  I wait for him and we both go in their room (the Warriors' room--the older Warriors were  fast asleep).   I suggested that we should say a prayer to help him go to sleep and forget about the scary pictures.   We said our little prayer and he seemed fine after that.  I also suggested that he sings primary songs to help him forget the pictures if they come back.

So, Sunday evening after family prayer, the Gooey Goos went off to bed.   As I pass by the Warriors' room I noticed Warrior 3 in bed on his knees with his eyes shut tight.
So, proud of him.   He knows what to do to get comfort.  He has faith that prayer works.  What a testimony.

2 weeks and 1 day old

Here is our little Warrior 4.  He is a cutie!  He is such a sweet spirit.  He melts my heart and even the King's. He is adored by his brothers and sister. It is amazing how Heavenly Father creates these little bodies for these wonderful spirits.  Little fingers and toes, eyes and ears, heart that pumps blood,  all those blood vessels that supply oxygen throughout their entire 6 lb. 11.7 oz body, a spinal column that houses and protects all the nerves...ooo I'm rambling  again.   Babies, they are so fragile and so sweet.  They are totally dependent on us.  I hope to be a better and wiser mom this time.
He is always eating that is why I haven't got time to blog until now.  I'm typing as he is nursing.  I think I'm going to develop a new talent.  I will be one of those people who will be proficient at typing with just one hand left or right... depending on which side he is nursing from.

Well, here are some pictures from today.  He is slowly filling out his scrawny body.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!  still at the hospital waiting.  I'm bored so i decided to take several shots of the rose given to me by one of the nurses last night.  what am i waiting for?  I am waiting for warrior 4's doctor to come.  today is the day that he is getting circumcised.  we are also going home today.  I would've gone home yesterday but couldn't since warrior 4 was not circumcised yet.

i was up at 6:30 am got dressed ready to go home..called  the King at 7  am who went home with the goo babes last night..that discharge time is around 11 am.

okay...so they get to the hospital around 9 and dr. still wasn't in to give warrior 4 his circumcision.  so, the goo babes
ate whatever was left in the fridge..watched some tv and then around 10:30 dr. came to do her thing.

The procedure didn't take long at all..it went pretty quickly.  So, why didn't she do it yesterday then?  Anyway, it was beautifully done.  They wrapped this ring around his "tutuy"
to absorb the blood and walah..it doesn't look that raw.
Well, we can finally go home.  Signed papers here and got a copy of his footprints and his immunization card blah blah blah.  Anyway, happy that we are taking home a beautiful and healthy baby boy.

Guess what?  I don't have enough formula for Warrior 4.  The nurse at the hospital didn't want to give extra formula.  She is for nursing 100%.   She gave me one 2 oz bottle and we had one left in the bassinet drawer...so we were able to take home 2 bottles.  How's that?  It didn't occur to me as we were driving home from the hospital to stop by the store to buy a couple of cans until 5:45 pm.  Foodland is closed on Sundays so we had to drive to Tamuras in Ha'ula to get some formula.  By the time we got to the store...there was a lady  monitoring the door
and told us that they were closed but then asked us what we were buying ...I said "FORMULA" and she was nice to let us in.  Because it's Mother's Day they were closing early at 6.   We were lucky..the lady was kind enough to let us in.  So, I thanked her again as we walked out the door.

I wonder how it is going to be with a new baby at home?   Are we going to be successful at nursing?   I really want to nurse.   Can  I mention how expensive  formula is now?   The ones we purchased at Tamuras were $20 each can.  Can you believe it?  I guess ...it's been over 7 years since I've purchased formula.

Anyway, how soon will I start to get cranky and tired and have baggy red eyes?   When is my body going to swell and bloat up?  Gosh, the joy of being a mom.  All the transformation and transfiguration  that our bodies and emotions go through.  Such an awesome calling to be a MOTHER.  What a privilege.  What a blessing.

The King will be staying home while I go back to work tomorrow.  There is only 3 weeks left of work/school..might as well finish it. =)   Again I say... blessings!  Everything just worked out.  I am truly grateful...grateful indeed for everything!
