BACK TO SCHOOL

The King gave the Gooey Babes a father's blessing. I'm grateful that we have the priesthood in our home. I'm glad that the Gooey Babes get to experience this every year before they go back to school.

My very first blessing I ever got from Papa was after my first semester of attending college at BYUH. I was too chicken to ask when I was younger and Papa was not the type to just call you on the side and give you a blessing. He didn't even like giving prayers to bless the food. We always skipped him. So, we never bothered to ask him for a father's blessing. NO WAY, JOSE!

Anyway, all will start school tomorrow. Warrior 1 is a Junior, Princess is a Sophomore, Warrior 2 is an 8th grader and Warrior 3 is a 4th grader this year. Warrior 4 still has 2-3 more years before he starts school. OMGulay, they are growing up fast.

Seminary start on Tuesday 8/2/11 for Warrior 1 and Princess.

Dental Appointment

We went to our dental appointment early this morning and it took us about 3 hours to finish. Lots of teeth to be cleaned. We've had Auntie Nicole as our dental hygienist since Princess was 8 months old.

Aunty Gail cleaned my teeth and Warrior 2's teeth.
I didn't get to take a picture of Warrior 2 because I took Warrior 4 outside to eat. He was getting hungry....so I fed him Bingo--orange filled oreos. That was a bad idea. I won't be doing that again. Sorry to Aunty Nicole who had to brush all those cookies off Warrior 4's teeth so dentista Lindsey Lau can check for cavities.

Here we have Auntie Nicole asking Warrior 4 what flavor toothpaste he wanted. He quickly pointed at the watermelon flavor.

He is starting to get nervous.

Warrior 4 didn't want to lean back with the chair.
He cried! He screamed! He struggled! I'll post a video later.

Warrior 3's turn.

Princess's turn
.
Warrior 1's turn.

YEHEY!
NO MORE CAVITIES!
Cavity Free until next time!
......but need to FLOSS.

seen and heard

Me and Princess trying to polish our nails....trying a new technique called marbling....when we heard Warrior 3 talking smack with Warrior 1.

They were talking and somehow Warrior 3 called Warrior 1 a FACEBUTT.

WARRIOR 3: YOU ARE A FACE BUTT.
WARRIOR 1: YOU ARE A FACE BUTT.

WARRIOR 3: NO, YOU ARE A FACE BUTT.
WARRIOR 1: IF I AM A FACE BUTT, YOU ARE A BUTT FACE. NOW, WERE EVEN!

WARRIORS YOU MADE ME AND PRINCESS "CRACK up!" Ha ha ha ha.

Waiting...

I'm waiting for my yoga class to start. The rest of the Gooey Goos are attending the pack meeting at the ranch. Swimming with family to welcome the school year.

After yoga, I headed back to the ranch and this is what they were doing instead.

Fever broke

Well, we had a better night. Warrior 4's fever finally broke. He only coughed a couple of times. We all slept good.

Bug not Quite Gone

Warrior 4 woke me up at 5 am. He was talking out loud in his sleep. He sounded angry. I picked him up and he still had the fever. Gave him his dose of Tylenol and made him drink lots of water.
We went back to sleep and then an hour later he was slapping my face with one of his small pillows. "up, mama! up!" he says as he points towards the living room.

In the living room we both sat on the couch and nag-dede. We both fell asleep and when I looked at the clock it was already 6:30am and I couldn't believe how drenched Warrior 4's hair was from sweating his fever out. Walked back in the room and slept some more.

Praying for a better Warrior 4 tomorrow.

Warriors are Bored

"We never go anywhere. We don't do anything. Ugh! There is nothing to do!"

Can you guess which one of the Warriors said these?

And what is so wrong about staying home? Go and write in your journal. Go and read a book. There is laundry to be hung. Oh, there is a load that needs to be folded. You can start dinner. You can put rice on. You can tidy up your room. Now, there are a lot of things to do.

Grumble grumble. Plops himself on the couch. Ayna! Feeling like Bagoong my dear Warrior? Fermenting in the house like the little fishes monamon.

Complain no longer. Let's go to BYUH parking lot. Grab the bike, rip sticks and skateboard.

So, here we are. I'm giving them an hour to run around and play.

Bug be gone.

I'm very grateful that Warrior 4 overcame the bug he got last night. He threw up. He had chicken skin. Gave him a dose of Albuterol via the nebulizer. He was so congested he couldn't breathe. At 3 am he was coughing and coughing .... I was still in sleeping mode ...knew I needed to do something but wasn't moving or doing anything. I didn't know what to say. Long story short. The King who knows all questioned my action. Shakes his head in disbelief and says... That this is why he can't trust me to care for him because this is exactly what's going to happen. He'll be dead by the time... I finally figure out what to say or do.

Anyway, I finally got the vapor rub to help with his congestion. Then the King felt that Warrior had a fever. Got some medicine for that and made him drink some water. The King asked me to get socks for Warrior 4's cold feet.

While all this was happening I said a little prayer in my heart. Prayer is always good anytime. So, we all went back to sleep.

Warrior 4 woke me up at 6 am. He was burning hot. He wanted to "dede" so we did; after that I gave him his water bottle and boy did he chug that whole thing dry. So, I gave him some more Tylenol. Fed him some watermelon and he was happy. Alert! Watching his kid shows and playing. I on the other hand felt so tired ...went back to sleep and didn't even hear the King leave. When I woke up it was already 10:45am. Really? I was that tired? Anyway....Warrior 4 still has the sniffles but I am
so grateful that he is feeling a lot better now.

A lot of catching up...

We've been back from our trip since the 9th of this month. What has happened? Well, Warrior 4 regressed. He no longer tells me that he needs to make doodoo. He just does it in his diaper/pull ups. That's what happens when you go on a trip and can't have access to bathrooms right away. Inside the plane...when he wanted to go... i'd take him but he wouldn't go as he sits in the toilet. An hour later he tells me "mama, doodoo" we run to the lavatory but then the line is long. 5 people lined up on either side. ugh! What else is there to do? Make doodoo in the diaper of course.

Four hour drive in the middle of nowhere...he tells me "Mama, doodoo". So, I tell him...just make doodoo in your diaper. Awan ti banyo. No wonder he is confused. We have to start all over again.

I'm once again motivated to blog. I've been looking through my old photos and felt I needed to get back on the ball. I often think about how much of a gap I need to fill since I've been MIA from blogging. Baby steps is better than none.

Sunday night we made dinner and went up to the hospital (Kuakini rehab) to eat with Gramma Goo and Grampa Goo. The King had to play for the Hawaiian choir at the fireside...as soon as he finished playing the piano he came home and we took off. I texted Gramma letting her know that we were on our way and we just past Waiahole Poi Factory. She replied and told us to go to Grampa's room first when we get there.

Come to find out...Grampa had a fever all day and don't know the cause. Gramma told us that Grampa worked hard yesterday using a walker and was sore that evening. Well, Gramma asked if the King could give Grampa a blessing. She also asked Grampa if he wanted a blessing and he said yes.

The King gave Grampa a blessing and how wonderful it is that he is able to do that. Our family is blessed to have the priesthood in our lives.

Anyhoo, last night was FHE at the FKTV home. Every 4th Monday of the month we all (FKTV, KENI and GOOEYGOOS) take turns going to each other's homes and have FHE together. Anyway, we had a great lesson about PIONEERS and delicious spread of food.

After dinner all the kiddos went in the house to play while the adults stayed outside to talk story. Warrior was happy looking out the window saying and waving "Hi! Mommy!" He'd go to the door and do the same. He'd lick Aunty Amie's window and laugh. He even scribbled on that same window. Hello! He was having fun hanging out with the other kids.

It was getting late (try very late almost midnight late)and Warrior 4 came out to be with me. He wants to "dede". He is tired and the King distracted him and let him play on his iphone. Warrior 4 easily navigated through it and found a movie to watch until he fell asleep.

Talk talk talk. He started coughing more and more, nose constantly running....until finally I could feel and hear his stomach churning. He is going to barf! is what was going on in my head. And sure enough he did!

We finally made it home around 12 am. more later.

Mammoth Exhibit

After visiting Gramma and Grampa at the hospital, we decided to go to Pearl Ridge Mall to do some "window" shopping and check out their exhibit.

The Mammoth Exhibit. Warrior 4 was so excited to see the mammoth just like Manny the mammoth in the movie ICE AGE. Then we saw the train and he quickly pointed to it so, we borrowed $3 from Warrior 3 and purchased his ticket. (He had the cash that's why.) He was so anxious waiting at the station but when it was time to board....it's another story.

Warrior 4 chickened out when it was time to buckle up and ride the choo choo train. Sorry, we can't refund your money.
So, we just ended up walking around checking out the a couple of skate stores and girly clothes stores. Warrior 2 was able to purchase another set of trucks for his skate board. Princess got me a $7 dress and she was able to get herself a blouse. She used a gift card she won online and just paid about $3 bucks out of her pocket for the two things. pretty good ah.

It's getting late. We are tired and hungry...let's go eat. Warrior 2 bought us dinner. He got 2 plates at Panda express and we all shared that. We asked for courtesy cups and shared the drinks as well. I got my free ICE. Counted our change and was able to get french fries for Warrior 4. Everyone is happy. All is well.

Bought the King dinner as well. We got him some beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp and some noodles. It's the same thing we had!

We all headed home. Driving through the long stretch of pineapple fields, past the DOLE pineapple plantation I noticed something white, shaped like a dome up in the sky. I had to wipe my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things. It resembled a rainbow but it was just all white. Whatever that thing was, it started to look like a bubble, a force field as a drove down the pineapple field. I asked the kids if they see it and they confirmed it as well. I've never seen such a thing. It was cool. Pretty awesome. Thank goodness for technology...I asked Princess to google it for me. "Type white rainbow. is there such a thing?" Yes, they exist. They are known as moon bows. Go, check 'em out.

goo'nite!

No Turning back.

Here is my new do. I got it cut when I was in the Philippines. We went to David's Salon in Urdaneta. It was only 180 pesos. Under $5. That's a steal! Considering they give you a head massage, shoulder and back rubs while you wait for your turn.
Anyway, I've always had long hair so I decided to go short. Really short. The first time I ever cut it this short was in 2002. It wasn't that bad. So, I did it again in 2007. Now, four years later we are back to having a short bob hairstyle. No regrets but to be honest... some days I like it; other days not so much.

I get the same reaction from people. There are those that say they like it. It's cute. You sassy. While others ask, why did you cut it? You had nice long hair or It's okay it's gonna grow back.

EITHER WAY IT'S ALL OKAY.
Wait! There is one regret. I didn't donate my hair. That was a lot of hair. I have to remember that the next time I chop my hair. DONATE! DONATE! DONATE!

beautiful flower

Princess took these pictures at the hospital while Grampa was painting.

Visiting Grampa

We went to visit Gramma and Grampa today. Gramma brought Grampa downstairs to paint between his therapies.
Grampa started out with a plain white canvas the other day which he ended up painting all blue and today he is going to add more details to this blue background.
Gloves on. Ready, set, PAINT!
He was spelling out Gramma's name. Too cute.

Then Grampa continued to trace over the letters until they all connected.
Started blending in the color white with the yellow.

And wallah! Something yellow green on dark blue.
We can't wait to see how the painting will turn out.
Stay Tuned.

MOney doesn't grow on trees.

It's July and the car hasn't been registered. The Gooey Babes want to go "holoholo" but I'm afraid to get caught driving an unregistered car. Hello. So, I told them that I only have $50 in my wallet. We need money. You all want to go out but I don't want to drive an unregistered van. So, what are we going to do?

The Gooey Babes were quick to lend their money. Too bad, money doesn't grow on trees. So, we all chipped in and were able to come up with what we needed.

So, we (the kids and I) headed down to Kailua City Hall and paid our dues of $300 plus.

Yey! The van is now registered. That's a relief!

**We got a phone call from Mama today as we were pulling in the parking lot at Pearl Ridge. Wow, they bought a "load". It was nice hearing from them. The kids were able to talk to Mama and Papa as well.

Why is this so exciting? Well, they no longer have a land line we could call them at. People keep stealing the phone company's cable. So, the land line is always out of service. Because of that my parents decided to get rid of it. They only have a cell phone that they "load" when needed. Calling international cell phone is very expensive so I don't call. I just text them once in a while.

When my brother Pat or sister Grace calls them, they'd call me so I can be a part of the conversation. (My sister and brother are very good to me). That's the only time I get to talk to them. Anyway...it was nice to hear from Mama and Papa.

Playtime with Princess

Warrior loves his sister. They get along very well.
Princess colored the bottom of her slippers here. It looked nice and vivid.
Not to mention...she also drew on her legs. HelloW! She showed up after my yoga class and noticed the marks on her legs. She couldn't just wipe 'em off. It needed water and a little bit of elbow grease to get it off.
Princess had more fun playing with the chalk that Warrior 4. He was more interested in finishing his "SABA". (Ilocano for banana)

Now, she is pooped. Warrior 4 wore her out. Around 4 pm she crashed. She didn't wake up until 5:50pm. She actually took a nap outside of the house.
