WARD HIKE TO PINE FOREST

After the ward chapel clean up, some of us joined the hike to pine forest. I didn't think that the King was going to go. I thought he was going to stay so I could leave Warrior 4 with him but to my surprise the King joined us.

It was hot. Warrior 4 was in his stroller during the first leg of the hike since it was flat. Then we had to carry him as we started the climb. The King carried him for a bit and the rest of the hike Warrior 4 was glued to my hips.

Enjoying the shade and cool air.
Are we there yet?

Why so long?

ugh!
This is ridiculous.
Warrior 4 is ready to go.

These guys went ahead. Where is Warrior 2?
Almost there!
Hiking with Warrior 4 on my hips. My arm is going to be sore.

Yey! We finally made it with the rest of the gang. I don't know how long they've been waiting. Hurry eat some snacks, drink some water and let's take a group picture.
Lunch will be served at Aunty Ella's house. Yum!

Language

can babies tell what first language or second language is?

does one need to perfect one language first before learning another?

when is a good time to teach them another language?

Walked Home

After church Warrior 4 was motivated to walk home.
Here we have Warrior 1 guiding Warrior 4.
He has gotten really good at walking.
Now, to finish the final leg of the walk home....push the stroller. Come on! Let's go.

What's in your Trash Can?

I didn't go walking today. Actually, since Monday. I have no excuse. I'm just plain old unmotivated. I am behind folding two loads of laundry and I washed two more loads today and I had to get that done. The van needed a "bath" so bad that you can't almost see through the window. Yes, so instead of walking...I was able to wash and fold the laundry instead.

When the kids came home from school...that's when I got all 4 loads of laundry folded. So, the highlight of my day was...cleaning our stinky garbage can.

I usually don't clean the inside of our garbage can regularly ...just when it is really gross. Well, this time it was beyond really gross! There were maggots crawling out of that thing. It was smelly and just pure disgusting. EEEEEEwWWWWW!

So, here is my attempt to clean out that smelly trash can. I put on several layers of latex gloves on. It smelled like the stinky market in the Philippines. Sad to say but true. I open the lid and out comes many flies. Large flies, extra large flies, medium flies, small flies and extra small flies. I see maggots in varying stages of their life...little tiny ones to fat ones. OMGulay! Maggots and flies colonizing in my garbage can. long story short..I actually took the contents of the garbage can and rebagged them to fit in three large trashbags. SCRUB AWAY! Poured that clorox, scrubbed the grossness out of that can and rinsed it away. Repeated the process I don't know how many times...but that was nasty!

I conquered the flies and maggots! Now the trash can is clean after all that scrubbing! =)

Single Adults Ward Conference

Our family was invited to go because the King was in charge of the sound system. Other than that....we would be home eating leftovers. This evening was full of history. Kupunas talking stories about the past 50 years when 1st Ward was organized. Anyway..lots of yummy food, cake and icecream!

Mother's Day

A year ago today, we were coming home from the hospital with a newborn baby. Well, here is our little one year old who continues to make us smile.

The KING got me a cool looking lei! I don't know what it is made out of. He thought it was UGS but I really love its simplicity and uniqueness.

All I wanted today was a peaceful and serene day. NO fighting, NO yelling, NO bickering, NO hitting, DON'T make anybody CRY day. It was peaceful for the most part so...it still turned out to be a good day. =) The King made dinner! YIPPEE! It is always a treat when the King cooks at our house. Thanks Honey!

Love my GooeyGoos...da BIG one (KIng) and the little ones (da Warriors and da Princess).

One Year Old

Here is our Warrior 4 fast asleep. His hair is as fuzzy as ever. Time goes by so fast. So peaceful so serene.

Love

Here we have Warrior 1 and Warrior 4. Warrior 1 is a good brother. He takes Warrior 4 out and plays with him while I cook. He is a big help. He sacrifices his own time to make his little brother happy. He could be running around the block but instead he takes him for a walk, carries him and laughs with him. No wonder when Warrior 1 leaves for seminary at 6 in the morning, Warrior 4 cries that his brother has to leave.

Remember these times okay Warrior 1 and Warrior 4! You are all growing too fast.

Here you can see that Warrior 4 just woke up. He woke up crying and so Warrior 1 went to the rescue and got him.

Family Adventures

JUST looking at old pictures and came across these bunch the 2nd time we went to Disneyland, California Adventure Park and Knotts Berry Farm. I remember this time. We -- me and the GooeyBabes just got back from our Philippines trip (in August 2007) and then not too long after that...I had asked to be excused from work the end of October so we can leave again. Hello! Lucky my BOSS and teachers were nice about it and let me go.

Here is the link to those pictures

SING IT!

(Sing it to the tune of ARE YOU SLEEPING)

Are you reading?
Are you reading?
Warrior 1!
Warrior 1!

A load of laundry is waiting.
A load of laundry is waiting.

To be hung.
To be hung.

Oh, hello! I get back from dropping Princess off to the Gym (Cheerleading conditioning--yes she tried out and made it) and as I take sleeping Warrior 4 in his crib this is what I see. A sleeping supposedly reading WARRIOR 1!

When homework is PAU...chores need to done. That's why and how the song came about. Okay, I better finish dinner. It's been cooking in the crock pot since 11:30 this morning. Roast pork for dinner tonight. Just need to mix the poi and cut up the veggies. Oh, my I gotta pick up Princess in half an hour. OMGulay! Stop typing and move!

What's Growing in the Garden

Gee! The title sounds so profound. I don't really have a garden. It is more like a compost pile sprouting. Whatever grows from burying our veggie and fruit scraps... IT'S IT. For those of you who knows this flower or plant...I didn't know what it was when a bunch of seedlings started growing last year. I had no clue what it was. As it grew, the shape of the leaves changed, it was a vine crawling and intertwining with the tomato plants and up the wired fence and the papaya tree. I don't remember when I finally realized that it was a Lilikoi plant.

So, for the longest time...the kids and I were wondering when it is ever going to bear fruit? Well, all I knew is that before something bears any fruit it has to blossom. Flower first. Fruits second.

Anyway, we are excited that we are finally going to have some lilikoi fruits.

Doesn't this flower look beautiful! Heavenly Father is a great designer.

So, delicate.

Very intricate.

Gorgeous looking flower. I love the purple center of the thin white shredded/julienned looking petals.

Can you see the little tiny fruit? I wonder how long this will take to reach its full size?

You can see the fruit better in this picture. It looks like a gecko's egg.

Little Ones

Aunty Nisi, Aunty Carol, Aunty Kearston and I visited Kelly Chamberlain's new baby girl! 8 lbs and 6 lbs? Wow! What a sweet spirit! So, precious. So innocent. So serene. It gave me goose bumps watching her tiny fingers and fragile little body. I can't believe that almost a year ago our little Warrior 4 was that tiny. Kelly would take him out when he was fussy as I taught my lesson to my Laurels. Our Warrior 4 will be turning 1 in five days. Can you believe it?

Today while I was prepping my handouts for YW, I came across this quote from President Gordon B. Hinckley. It was shared during the General Conference last month. I love it! I bet when you get to read it you'll end up loving it, too. I especially like the part in the beginning where it says,"NEVER FORGET that these little ones are THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD and that yours is a CUSTODIAL RELATIONSHIP to them...

FATHERS, CONTROL YOUR TEMPERS, NOW AND IN ALL THE YEARS TO COME. MOTHERS, CONTROL YOUR VOICES, KEEP THEM DOWN. Yes, there are always room for improvement. I need to keep my voice down. I need to control my temper. I need to be better.
If we were to get a grade from Heavenly Father I wonder what kind of grade the King and I will be getting? Oh, boy. LOVE and nurture. Take care of the little ones...and even the big ones with all our hearts.
