Piano Recital

Here they are!  All 25 students of May Shumway!  All the children did well.  We sure enjoyed every one's talent and appreciated all the wonderful music that were shared.   I am just amazed how these kids can play without their music in front of them.   Well, done!  This is only the 2nd recital for our Princess.  I was nervous for her.  I was afraid that she would play her songs too fast.  But she didn't.  Great job, Miss.    These are the songs that Princess played.

1.  Princess Leia's Theme (from Star Wars)...........Williams/arr. by Coates
2.  Dance of the Sugar Plum  Fairy (from The Nutcracker).........Tchaikovsky/arr. by Rejino

We are happy that Grandma and Grandpa were able to make it to Princess' recital.  We were all surprised!  Tomorrow is another day.  Gymnastics State Meet...here we come!

December Birthdays!!!

Happy Birthday to Gabriel and Joshua!

I can't sleep!

I need to sleep but I can't.    I tried.  I have been tossing and turning for an hour.  Maybe writing what's on my mind is going to do the trick.    After the Christmas program last night, we came home and I was just really sleepy.   It just felt like I didn't stop moving yesterday.   We ran out of milk in the fridge and we were also out of soymilk in the pantry.  Hellow!   I had to dilute evaporated milk so Warrior 3 can have milk with his cereal.   After work, I had to go shopping for food.  Put groceries away.  Had to squeeze in a couple loads of laundry and then started making dinner at 2:30.   Pasta alfredo with bacon, spinach, and  mozarella cheese.  I was craving for pizza after seeing an ad from midweek ....so I ordered the PAN-ormous pizza and the cheezy bites.   Ate dinner at 3:30.  Took Warrior 3 to choir.  Came home, took shower and got ready for the program, hung a load of laundry, went back to pick up Warrior 3, dropped him home so he could shower and get ready.  Went to the high school to  pick up our Princess from gymnastics so she can make it to her choir practice, went home, got the Warriors and the King in the van.   At 5:30 we were at the CAC.   That's all I did but it just felt like I did a lot more.
Anyway,  I actually went to bed around 9:30  I don't know what time the King went to bed.  I woke up around 3 am and he was still up.  Around 4:oo, I was awakened by his loud snores  and then I couldn't go back to sleep.  So, finally at 4:30 I got up..went to the kitchen checked my mail and replying to Aunty Esther about choir's  Saturday sectionals.   So, what to do?  Made bread and made some kind of quiche.  Simple ingredients.  2 potatoes-chopped, 6 eggs, shredded cheese, ham, a little bit of onions chopped, green onions for color and salt/pepper. Stick it all in the oven for 30 minutes @ 400 degrees and walah!    Mix some OJ and breakfast is ready.
I planned to go walking this morning too but I was afraid to go out by myself in the dark.   Did laundry instead.  Just one load.

The King and I went to Castle for my 16 weeks check up and  I gained 2 oz. in 3 weeks.  I am  ANEMIC.  They drew more blood to see any abnormalities  blah blah blah..because of my age I am at risk of having a Down's Syndrome baby and what not.  Baby's heartbeat is strong, beating roughly about 140 bpm.   We will find out in two weeks what we are having.

Anyway, my appointment practically took our whole morning.  We got home around noon.   Did two more loads...  fell asleep folding a load on my bed and I woke up kids are home from school,  Princess left for gymnastics,  the King is gone.  He took the van  and don't know where he went.    Hung the laundry...washed the dishes (because I couldn't wait for the kids to finish their HW and start the dishes...I wanted the sink clean!  Pronto!  So I ended up doing it.) It is time to make dinner again! Our job is never ending.

Well, finally called the King and his voicemail picked up.  left a message asking where he was at and for him to call us.  Then our landlord comes looking for him.  I was like I have no idea.  Come to find out the King was at the other house doing some plumbing for our landlord. Hello!  On his day off..he still has to work!?    Okay, I am getting sleepy now.  Laters.   oh, but before I close....for those of you who know the King...  i came home from yoga to a dark and empty house.  he left me a note on my computer stickies and it read..."We went to Mexico.  Be back on Tuesday.   Love, Us"    It made me smile!  And then I was like....what the heck?  That doesn't tell me where they are at.  Some helpful note.   Not!  He is so koo koo that King of mine.  I figured out where they were at.  At the chapel...practicing with the youth...he was playing the piano.

night night!

Christmas Program

Last night was L.E.S Christmas program.  We only have 2 participants from our goofy family this year.  It wasn't a big stress.   No fancy costumes for the boys this year. Thank you to Aunty Amie...for letting us borrow a red shirt for Warrior 2 to use.  Thank you to Aunty "Plain Jayne"  for the new pajamas!  What a perfect timing!  You ladies are the bomb.
Well, the program went well.  It was about an hour long.  Santa came running in the CAC  to help the children with the tree lighting countdown.   Santa was a crack up!    As he was running  to the mic...we saw something sticking out of his belly.  At first I  really thought he was

just trying to be funny but Santa
quickly realized he needed to fix himself.  So, he turned around and tucked  that pillow back under his suit.  Ha Ha Ha  and  HO HO HO!

15 weeks and 3 days

Congratulation! Your baby is 15 Weeks old!

I'm Back!

Well, hellow!  Where have I been?  I have been napping a whole lot after school.  That's where I've been.   I just didn't have the energy to update my blog.  Why the lack of energy?  I don't  know how many of you know but I am 15 weeksLATE!!!  We heard baby's heartbeat and we saw a little embryo moving inside of me. Yes, we are EXPECTING our #5 chikiting.  Now, you know.  Yup!  I am with child.  I'm baking something in the oven.  I'm preggo!  I'm HAPAI!  Buntis!   My EDD is May 21, 2009.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2008
Well,  I lot has happened since the last time I posted in September.  The King had a birthday in September.   He ended up babysitting for a friend who attended the temple.  The boy was 1 and 1/2 years old and he just cried and cried for his mom and dad.  When the King tells him to stop crying he'll stop for a moment and avoided any form of eye contact.  Then something amazing happened.  As soon as the King started playing his game  (Call of Duty 4)  that bebe stopped as if nothing happened.  He was fine and was talking bubbles about the game.  Hellow!  All of a sudden Uncle was his best friend.

Here is Warrior 3 at the end of September...lost a tooth the day after picture taking.  Then in October, he lost the bottom  right.  His teeth looked like jack-o-lantern's puka teeth.
Warrior 3 lost a total of  3 baby teeth.  One for each month.   In fact, he just lost one brushing last night.  The upper right is gone.   OOppppsss!  The tooth fairy was slacking on the job.   Hold on.   Okay, done.   So, two front teeth now is missing. What a perfect timing for their Christmas program this Wednesday.

Wow!  Warrior 3 made his bed without having to be told.  Anyway,  Warrior 2 lost a tooth, too.  He no longer believes in fairies though.  He told me that he was going to throw it on the roof.  That's what I was told to do when I was a little girl in the Philippines but the tooth fairy never came.  Bogus!

The Princess and I  had a birthday in October.    Princess didn't want a party..she wanted to go shopping for clothes instead.  So, we did.  Later the King took us to ride the Atlantis for Princess's birthday and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe afterwards.  The food wasn't even all that great for the price we paid.  We could have gone to Todai or Red Lobster.  The place was so
empty.  Never again will we eat there.  Warrior 2 liked the guitars and the decor though.

OCTOBER 17, 2008

The King and the Goo Babes attached candles on the sticks of these caramel/chocolate and all that stuff covered apples.  Got 6 of these.  Yum!
The gift card above...(which I haven't used by the way) was the perfect gift.  You see, a week before my birthday...I was always asking the kids to massage my feet, my upper back and my arms.   I was never satisfied though.  I was always telling them "more pressure"; "harder!"; "don't stop!";  I sounded like a broken record.  Thank you HONEY for the wonderful gift.  Now, I can relax and enjoy an hour long massage, pedicure and a shake to go with that.  Yum!  Total bliss and  tranquility.    (I wonder when I will finally get to use it.  When I'm sore and   tense of course.)

OCTOBER 19, 2008
The whole family gave a talk in church after being in the ward for over 10 years.  The topic was on "Standing Fast through the Storms of Life."  That was
a great experience when it was all done.

OCTOBER 30, 2008

The King was in charge of Trunk-or-Treat.  It rained and rained....so we had to  move it indoors. I didn't buy them costumes this year.  They, Warrior 1 and 3 recycled what they used last year since we spent Halloween at Disneyland (nobody saw what they wore).  Warrior 2 cut up some shirt, wore a bandana and was a pirate.  Princess  came in her gymnastics practice uniform. (she came straight from practice that evening).  The King wore his Pirates of the Caribbean jersey and his pirates mickey mouse ears....I wore Inang Baket's old duster and tied my hair back, dusted a lot of baby powder on my hair and wore my house slippers.  Walah!  Instant old lady!  =0  I didn't even get to take pictures of this evening.  The King came up with all the decorations.  He is so talented!  Yes, I can brag about him.  He is the bomb diggity.
I've started attending our ward choir too since the King started playing the piano for the choir.    That's all I have to say about that.  Oh, I take that back.   Sis. K always brings goodies to eat afterwards.

NOVEMBER 5, 2008
The beginning of November, I was craving for turkey and so I cooked my very first turkey.   I couldn't wait for Thanksgiving.   I was so proud of myself tackling that 15lb turkey.     You see, cooking is not my thing.   It takes me hours to cook  (that's what it seems like)  while the King can just whip something up in no time.  Anyway...for me that was a great accomplishment!   It was delish!   I rubbed it with oil mixed with freshly chopped rosemary and oregano (thanks to Nan and her herb garden!), garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.  When that was done, I smeared lots of butter underneath the skin.   Oh, I cooked it breast side down...for a juicier and more succulent  breast.  The skin was thin and golden!  Totally artery clogging but it was good  and crispy.  Yumm!

NOVEMBER 8-9, 2008
Went to a Yoga training at Schofield the 2nd week of November with Aunty Raine.  We encountered a MT. 3 moment as we entered the gate.  I didn't have the current insurance card.  I had to call the insurance company and had him talk to the officer, guard (I don't know the proper title to call 'em) to verify that  our van was insured.  Whew!   The guard was nice and let us through.   I  just had to drive cautiously following every speed limit.   We were late but were not the only ones late.  They were just filling out papers.  So, we were good.  It was a two day training.   All day Saturday and all day Sunday.  Yup!  We skipped church.  Thank you to Plain Jayne for taking Warrior 2 and 3 to the game with you.  Thank you Tita 96762 for looking after the GooBabes.  Anyway, we learned about the brain, the Chakras or energy centers of the body, meditation and we were introduced to several new poses in this level.
Anyway,  it was also during this training that I was able to see an Aunty during our lunch break.  I was just talking to Papa asking whether this Aunty was still alive.  What do you know?  I saw her!

NOVEMBER 21, 2008
My first substitute teaching assignment!   Mrs. G.  whom I PTT for went to the midnight showing of the movie Twillight!  It was fun!  It was also a day of the evacuation drill for our school.  Did you know that the kindies were given treats as soon as we got to the sight.  It was the teachers way of checking if the students are all there.   My kids had Skittles.  They each got 5  pieces.  That was part of the plan.

Being in the Kindies class makes me want to go back to school and get certified in teaching these little guys.  I did my student teaching back in 1998 in the High School and Intermediate level...I did not like it.   The good kids...no problem!  The naughty kids however, I dreaded!   Too much stress.  Only if all the kids were respectful and  good.  Then I wouldn't have a problem teaching in the upper grade level.    Right now, the kindies are fresh and young I can still boss them around.  Nah, kidding!  =)   But not totally.

 NOVEMBER 22,2008
We went to see the movie Twillight!  The King and the 3 Warriors went to D & B while Princess and moih went to see the movie.  For me, the movie was okay.    I enjoyed my popcorn and mochi crunch.  =)  Lucky thing ...the King had 2 free movie tickets.   Didn't have to spend $20  for an okay movie.   I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at the price on how much it cost to go see a movie now a days.   10 bucks!  Well, I was clueless because the King always paid every time we went out to watch.  The last time we went it was $7.  Anyway...

Oh, I've also been to 3 Pampered Chef Parties this month.  Hello!  Stoneware is on sale 20% off until Dec. 15, 2008.

Now the King is busy prepping for our Ward Christmas party...which is the same night as the KCC Concert.  Princess, Warrior 3 and moih will miss the party.    We'll see.

This is all for now.

Rambutan!

Check out these Rambutans!  The King brought them home.  Someone gave it to him.  Whoever you are...thank you!  They were so yummy!  The kids and I really enjoyed them.  (except for Warrior 1...he didn't even try one.)
