Happy New Year!

This is our  7th  year welcoming the new year in Laie.  We usually go to Mililani and spend time with Aunty Wanda and Uncle Alvin.   But here we are with friends, our extended families!  We ate dinner at 8 after which the POP POPs,  morning glories and the smaller fire crackers were lit around 9 or 9:30...the kids had enough to burn for an hour.

Tita 96762,  Plain Jane and the Police Officer.
Our extended families!

THE FINAL HALF HOUR!
The kids are anxious to light the bigger fireworks.  Watch out for cars!  OK.  Line 'em up gang!

They are waiting for the "GO!"
While waiting..they take the tape off so the fuse is  ready to light.
Here is Lavalava watching Disney Channel!  She was having her own party inside the house
dancing and singing.
Here is Miss Lavalava.   All the fireworks were too loud for her.  She kept saying "Inside! Inside!"
Ground sparklers can be just as beautiful as the illegal ones.
No Cars!  Go!  There's the Princess with Hip Chic:  Warrior 2 and J. Fktv:  M. Krazy Keni and Warrior 3  all ready to light their stuff.
J. Fktv:  M. Krazy Keni:  Warrior 2 Gooey Goo
The Kids sure enjoyed lighting these up.
Here is Mr. Tonga (SMS FKTV) and  son Jd Fktv.
Here is Warrior 3, behind are his ground sparklers that he lit.  Warrior 1 is in the background.
Smokey and loud!  Oh, but what a wonderful sight!
Here is another glimpse of those illegal aerials.
Warrior 1 trying to light one of the Crackling Strings or SINTURON NI HUDAS (Belt of Judas)

The King's work ladder was perfect in hanging these belts.

One belt for each child.
Here are the illegal aerials !  They sure were beautiful to watch.
We didn't need to go to town to watch fireworks. They were all around Laie.
Someone sure spent lots of money burning these babies up.
