THE FLOOD

I went to bed @ 9 pm.  I woke up at 12 and was RAINING!   Woke up again at 2 am and it was still raining.   Then 4 am came and the rain still sounded the same.  It never slowed down.  I was worried how Warrior 2 and 3 going to get to school without getting drenched.  The King was leaving early in the morning to take the van in for the 12,000 mile service.  The three of us  Gooeys  were going to catch a ride with Aunty Melissa.   What to do with all this rain?  At 5 am the King gets up,  I still lingered in bed for another half an hour.   Anyway...10 minutes to 6 we said our goodbyes..."drive safe"   blah lah blah...door shuts....engine starts.  Not too long after that  he is back in thehouse.  He turns the TV on for NEWS!  "I don't think I want to go in this weather."  Thank goodness...he didn't.  Not too long after that... Bishop "Runner"  came over and asked if he could borrow the King's cones.  Okay, they are blocking our street.  The water kept rising.  A lot of the men were outside to help those who needed help.  The gooeys and I practically stayed inside the whole time with the kiddies.  The only time we got out and wet was when we went next door to get the Keni kids.  That was it!   Nah, I take that back Warrior 1 and Warrior 2 arranged blocks in front of our door while the King fixed it and put "supot" and plank so water will not enter.  The King was out there and he also cooked for the gang out there.   We got some too.  It was a cross between baked beans and chili.  It was good.  The boys liked it too!

Anyway, the aloha spirit lives in Laie.  There were  a lot of people outside helping out the neighbors who were affected.    The boys played video games while the girls painted their nails.  After 2 hours of video games they played  cards, scene it and uno.

Anyway...here are some pictures of this day.

I don't have very good pictures but this was the worse flooding we've seen since we've been here.  The water came close to our doorstep.  We were lucky enough that we remained dry.  Always grateful to Heavenly Father  for our blessings.  The others who were not so lucky are in our prayers.

We were lucky...some had water in their house at their hip level.
