TSUNAMI SATURDAY

February 26, 2010. I saw on Facebook that Chile had an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 plus. Well, Uncle Mar Tano is currently working in Chile. I hoped that he was safe. Anyway, it was already after midnight and our neighbor started posting on their FaceBook profile that we were under Tsunami advisory. I wasn't really worried. I just went to bed and didn't bother to wake up the King and tell him the news.

Well, around 3 am Warrior 4 wakes up to eat. Not too long after that, we get a phone call from Officer Keni that the advisory had been upgraded. The King immediately goes to work. He walks a couple of blocks down to someone's house by Laie Park and relay the news. He calls me later to drop something off to him and then instructs me to put gas in the van. It's 2/3 full! I went to the gas station anyways...as I approach the gas station ...there is a long line of cars waiting to get gas. There is no way I'm going to sit and wait for this line. I thought that it was smarter to go home and get our 72 hour kits out of the garage and Warrior 4's things ready.

Anyway, the King later went to the gas station to fill up his work van and filled all the empty gas containers. I don't know how long he was in line but as he was getting close to the pump he realized that he didn't have his wallet with him. Hellow! he called to tell me to bring it to him.
As soon as I got back from the gas station, the Goo Babes and I started loading all of out 72 hr. kits and what not. The King loaded his cooking stuff, generator, tent and we were prepared! Right before we left at 7 or so the King put the TV and computers up on the top shelf of the kid's closet. This is for real! We decided to ask the Kahalepuna's if we could hang out at their house and they were very gracious in accommodating us. We are grateful..we were comfortable. I was able to take a nap. The Goo Babes were occupied...with movies. We had bathrooms to use. Watched the news updates. I don't how it would have been had we gone up to the Gunstock Ranch. Indeed grateful.

Anyway, the King offered a prayer before we left...and I'm sure most families did because we were spared.

Some experience.

Baby Sitting

Well, I thought I'd post a picture of a typical day looking after these three precious boys. They crack me up. From left to right..we have Warrior 4, Baby Tyde, and Little K. The hardest part of all this is when the two younger ones cry for attention at the same time. A replay of over 7 years ago, but with Warrior 3 and Baby Ocean (Tyde's big brother). They were only 2 months apart. I'm grateful for all these experiences. Thankful for my blessings. *taken 2/25/10

He is almost 10 months old.

He loves biting this blue ball.

He has this thing about feet. If you are not watching he will nibble on your toes. He is funny.

I Moved!

I was motivated to move this evening. Try 11:00pm-1:00am. I just did basic exercises like jumping jacks, knee lifts, squats, quick feet, run in place, ....I was just doing anything for the sake of sweating. I just varied the speed and added weights to increase the intensity of those basic moves. I accomplished what I wanted to accomplish which is to feel lactic acid in my body, sweat to get rid of toxins and I feel good. It is a start. Let's see if I can do that again tomorrow night! You see I need to lose 20 lbs. but I haven't been successful. That's because I haven't really done anything for it. Ayay-yay!

What made me decide to do that at this time? I don't know...I just felt like it. I felt energized. It must have been the hour plus nap I took this afternoon before going visiting teaching. Anyway, I'm just jotting my thoughts down. Everyone is asleep. Yup..I guess you can say I am talking to myself. The King would call that "CRAZY".

I tried jogging with Princess but my knees always felt sore after a couple of minutes. So, that didn't last. But I discovered something that made it feel stronger. My knees that is. On February 13, 2010 that is a Saturday... I went with Natalie Norton to BIKRAM YOGA one Saturday morning. Well, 26 poses done twice in a heated room was awesome. The thing that the instructor challenged me to do was to lock my knees in doing a couple of the balancing poses. I was like what?! I learned to never lock the knees when doing any type of exercise. I tried anyways but I was shaking big time. My knees are weak! Got to get them strong again. After the hour and a half of BIKRAM. I felt good, refreshed and rejuvenated. Later that day, I noticed that my knees felt different. It was good...they felt new. Gotta do more BIKRAM.

I also need to work on decreasing (not eliminating) my sugar intake. NGII! I just have to make better choices when I eat. I have to remember portion control and eat more veggies.

I've been complaining about my weight and shape, how I can't fit any of my clothes comfortably ..but I don't want to buy new clothes. Thanks to my sister...she passes her unwanted clothes to me. I get to wear new hand me down to church every now and then. I had to clear out my closet and give away most of the dresses I have because the zipper don't want to zip up.

I have been lazy to go for walks with Plain Jane and Tita 96762. December I think was the last time I walked with them. I said I was going to walk with them in March. Cross your fingers.

That's all for now.

Testimony

I probably sound like a broken record, cd, mp3, ipod.

I just want to bear my witness that Heavenly Father watches over us. He knows us and our needs.

For the past couple of weeks I have been purchasing Warrior 4's formula. WIC only gives him 4 cans/month. He goes through one can in a couple of days. Formula is sure expensive. But managed to have enough money to buy a couple of cans. I am hoping that one of those cans are bottomless.

So, this passed Sunday we paid tithing. The freezer is looking spacious and airy. How much is left for kids' lunch, food, bills and etc? Do I really want to write it down? It is a little embarrassing but what the heck. It's my blog/journal. One account had $6.30. Another had $1. Seriously! I'm not kidding. The "Bills" account had $150 left in there. Great! Crossing fingers that these $$$ can miraculously spread out because that is all we have to work with until the next paycheck.

Today was the day to go to food bank. I wasn't going to go because I watch Baby Tyde (4 months old) and his mom comes around quarter to 11 to pick him up. The last time I went to food bank that late...there were not much left. So, no sense going to food bank today. I really wasn't planing on it.

So, I went about my day. Little K (who will be 3 in April) wanted sandwich for lunch today. He didn't want what he had in his lunch bag. Oh, gosh I don't have any bread. I have to run to Foodland and buy bread. (buy the cheapest one on sale of course) Well, 10:45 came and Janelle picked up Baby Tyde. Something kept telling me to just go to the Foodbank anyways. So, I decided to listen and loaded Warrior 4 and Little K in the van.

Sure enough I was the last one to get there. They've started cleaning up and putting things away...One Aunty asked why I came so late....I missed all the good stuff....

Anyway, long story short.

I don't have to worry about baby formula. I got 6 cases...36 cans total. I got 3 loaves of bread, 2 bags of burger buns, 3 bags of hot dog buns, pandesal. A case of canned peaches plus more. What are the odds? We needed bread and bread was given. We needed formula and we got cases of it. I am truly grateful for all my blessings. I am glad I listened to the promptings to go to Foodbank. It is coincidence? I think not.

He is real. He cares. He answers prayers. He is definitely watching over me and my family.

we are Truly blessed and I am very grateful.

Early Morning Valentine

Happy Valentines Day! The King did it again. I was surprised by a dozen sweet roses on the kitchen table as I got up to make Warrior 4 a bottle. York peppermint patties formed a heart next to the vase of roses as well. Aww. Thanks Honey! Lob You! xoxo Me =)

from the beach

In a couple of days Warrior 4 will be 9 months old. This picture was taken in front of the AKOI'S house coming back from HUKILAU beach.

The water is still too cold for our little Warrior 4. He sat on my lap for the most part. We played in the sand instead.

We just watched the other GooeyBabes play in the water. Warrior 4 has tan lines on his arms and is getting more "brown".

Welcome Home Soldier!

Well, Uncle Misi is coming home tomorrow. He served in Kuwait for a year. The Gooeygoos made a sign that the King designed. Everyone helped. The King brought out the projector and we taped the vinyl on the wall and we all traced like crazy. I was assigned to traced the ship but when it came to coloring it..we all got carried away with the black paint and ruined the ship. So, of course the King rescued it and made it look beautiful. We took it over to the Fakatava fale around 11 pm and hung it . WELCOME HOME!

battle of the beanie

It was cold and windy today. I needed to hang a couple of loads on the line. I had to bundle up Warrior 4. However, he didn't like to wear that beanie on his head. He kept taking it off while I kept putting it back on. Hence the battle of the beanie. =)

while we wait...

While waiting for dinner to finish...
Warrior 4 and I have time to just be us.

He is easily distracted from nursing
When he hears his brothers or other exciting noises.

The King and the Goo Babes made dinner tonight.

The GooBabes enjoyed cooking with the King.
*Warrior 2 was taking the pictures.

TURKEY TROT

Warrior 3 wakes up
gets ready
eats breakfast
"Mom, Warrior 2 says I'm gonna come in last."
Warrior 2! Is that a nice thing to say?
Smiles his "kolohe" smile
that's okay if you come last.
Just do your best.
Be happy you were chosen to run.

turkey trot was after school
kept a steady pace
ran two laps
didn't look winded
came in last.

Warrior 3 ran a good run.

HOnu

Warrior 3 painted a Honu (turtle). I was finally able to see what he painted last year. It shows how rarely I go over to the school anymore since having Warrior 4. Great looking honu! Awesome painting, Warrior 3!

seen and heard

Warrior 4 finally sleeping after crying himself to sleep for 20 minutes.
Ooops. I jinxed it. 4 minutes of sleeping and now he is back to crying.

Life

life is good
full of ups and downs
some mountains are harder and steeper to climb
but still must get over them

then all is well.
we've reached a plateau
life is easy

there are oppositions in all things
I dislike....
disagreements
I detest...
misunderstandings
I loathe ...
yelling but
I catch myself doing it

I despise...
a SHARP tongue but
I've let mine slip
I abhor...
contention
but it happens

sickness happens
bodies will fail to function
our spirits will leave

I don't know but life is a long practical exam.
trying to do what is best
raising children
being a daughter
being a wife, friend, sister
and a mother.
ME.

we CRY
we LAUGH
we TEASE

we ARGUE
we FIGHT
we LOVE

we SING
we DANCE
we HUG

wii PLAY (get it)
iLook
STUPID
iSound
DUMB

iHave an iPhone
but it is an old one.

iCan be Funny
like my Honey...
I heard Princess say, "we have lots of food even when we don't have a lot of MONEY."

I need to be a better example
sometimes iLOSE it.
more often when it's that time of the month
Everything or everyone is "IRRITZ"

I get DISCOURAGED
can't help but compare myself to others.
There are a lot of people out there far better than me.
but then you know what?

You can't do that! You can't really COMPARE
My TEST is different from so and so.
His EXAM is far more difficult than mine.
Which test would you rather be taking?
MINE.

Acknowledge and accept that.
we are all special because God don't make no JUNK.
HE knows my name. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses.
He knows everything..
my aches and pains.
whether it's arthritis or DIABETES.
JOYS and sorrows.
He knows what I need. what my family needs.

How quickly we forget sometimes ...why we chose to come to this earth.

..after the trial we will be blessed
this life is a test.

if life were easy, it wouldn't be hard. (Sheri Dew)

THIS IS ALL FOR NOW.
iCan go on.
but iWill not. =)

Have a great day!
