If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

BE PREPARED. GET ORGANIZED. PLAN. Well, I clearly failed to do all this. The Gooey Goo Babes didn't have their school supplies before they started school last week Monday (August 1, 2011). Well, mainly for Warrior 3. The high school kids and intermediate kids, as long as they have filler paper and something to write with; they are fine.

Warrior 3 didn't go to school empty handed. Last week Sunday, Plain Jane came to the rescue by giving us composition books, glue, crayons, dry erase markers, pencils, red pen...etc. A BIG MAHALO to the Keni Klan!

So, today we decided to only attend sacrament meeting. We are going to visit Gramma and Grampa in Mililani. They are staying with Aunty Kuulei and Uncle Alvin Naumu. Grampa is still undergoing therapy. He had a stroke the end of May.

We got home from church....made rice, gravy to go with our roast pork and then we headed to Mililani. We had dinner as soon as Uncle Alvin got back from work. We all "talk stories", had FHE--the King gave the lesson. He shared a message from one of his talks--BEING PREPARED. We had ice cream cones, sandwiches or Melona for dessert. Talked some more, laughed here and there. The King shared his feelings of gratitude toward Uncle and Auntie. Then it was 9:30 pm. It's time to go. Gooey Goos gathered and loaded our things in the van. Don't forget the cans and bottles.

We stopped by Walmart (yes, on a Sunday) before heading home to get the rest of the supplies for Warrior 3 and Princess also had her list she needed to get. It took us a long time to do just that. When we finally made it to the car, (the King was already in the car waiting for us) I couldn't believe my eyes at what time it was. Really? It took us 2 hours to just get all that? That is not even a whole lot of stuff. The King was like, "seriously, it took you guys 2 hours to get school supplies? Whatever the reason..whatever the excuse...we just took too long!

Anyway, the King drove. I know it is late and we needed to get home...but he was driving a little on the fast side. Hello. Forty-five. Fifty. He was not stopping there. Sixty. Nope. Seventy. More? I was not feeling good about this. I kept my mouth shut. I prayed that we get home safely.

When we got to the Pineapple plantation...he was going pretty FAST. Police car and a blue light kept popping in the back of my head. When we got to bottom of the hill, the end of the pineapple fields, right before the traffic light....there was a police car parked on the side of the road. King slowed down but we still passed the police car at a fairly fast speed and sure enough...jà vu |ˌdā zh ä ˈvoō| ....blue flashing lights quickly followed. NOT A WORD from me or the kids. Got the ticket for driving over 50 mph at a 35 speed limit zone. Police gave the King a discount and reminded him to stay at around 45 mph. The King was pretty good and we made it safely home after midnight.

What a way to end the day. I need to be prepared, I need to plan and get organized so that our school supplies will not cost us over $100 more than they actually are.
