Tired of my Hair
I cut the Warriors' hair and trimmed Princess' bangs. I too wanted to do something with my hair. Do I want a bob? Layers? Hey, how about some bangs? Bangs and some layers it is.

June 2009
Just looking through old pictures and it is fun to see how our little Warrior 4 has grown.
From a head full of hair to baldy waldy as he shed his baby hair and now to a head full of fuzz.
He is so peaceful and serene.
He sure is a joy to have in our lives.

Anxious!
With Papa being in and out of the hospital, I can't help but worry a little. I don't like not knowing what is happening. Every single time my cell phone rings or I hear a text message "ding!" I get anxious. Who is calling or texting me now? What is the message?
Well, I just found out last night that Papa was rushed to the hospital again yesterday morning. He had a hard time breathing. (Last night after Yoga, I returned Glet's call. We talked a little bit about how Papa was doing. After talking to Glet , I had posted a link of the temple pictures we had taken in August on Facebook. She replied that Pat called her and let her know that Papa was rushed to the hospital and Pat is going to the Philippines on Dec. 2.) I soon texted Mama and she responded...that he is hooked up on the IV. He had a hard time eating, was weak and panicked. So, they rushed him in.
I tried calling Pat as well, but he didn't pick up. So, at 3 am he calls me. He confirmed that he had already purchased his ticket to go home.
What to do?
Warrior 3's MOC
Here is Warrior 3. I feel bad because everytime he makes his MOC (my own creations)Lego Model, I often tell him to set it aside and I'll take a picture of it later when I have time or am not busy with Warrior 4. Well, here is one of his many MOC. He is no longer the baby. He is now a big brother. He says that he misses our made up story telling/sing me songs bedtime rituals. When he knows baby is down when it's time for them to go to bed, after we say our family prayer and goodnight hugs...he'll whisper in my ear "Mom, can I have a bedtime story?" I kind of like the idea that he prefers made up ones ...because no lights required.
*this was taken the beginning of the month.
Papa is back at the Hospital
It makes me sad that I can't be there to see how he is doing. Glet just sent me a couple of pictures via email of Papa in a wheelchair. After talking to Glet this evening...the doctors said he didn't have a stroke.
In the CAT scan...they say that there's an ABSCESS in his brain. In 1993, Papa and Mama went to California. This is where they clipped a couple of veins in Papa's brain that kept making him have seizures. The neurologist said that where they had clipped the vein is where a big ball of abscess is located. This he said after his many years of practice he has not seen. So, what does that mean? I don't know. All I know is that they are giving him medication to hopefully shrink that abscess. If it doesn't shrink then what? Is there a possibility that it is a brain tumor?

What was he for Halloween?
I am finally posting some pictures of Warrior 4. See how big he has gotten? I took him for his 6 months check up on the 9th this month and he weighed 20 lbs. 11 oz. He did really good with his shots. The first two shots didn't phase him. The third shot however...made him scream like mad.
Did I mention that he has TEETH! The top gums has 6 teeth trying to come in. The two bottom teeth came in at the end of his 4 months and at the end of his 5th month is when the top teeth decide to come in. How's that? Poor little Warrior 4.

So, he is now creeping. He has mastered the art of sitting upright. Although, I still put pillows around him just in case he topples over. Ooh, another cute and funny thing that he does is that he gives the King a kiss. When the King says "kiss kiss" he'll bring his lips towards the King's lips. He loves playing with his brothers and sister. He always gets excited when he sees their faces. Warrior 4's face also lights up and the legs and arms start going when he sees the King.
He loves to run his mini marathons. If you suspend him in the air...he'll start running. If you extend your legs up in the air and let his belly rest on the soles of you feet he'll start swimming! =) He is a joy to have. Sometimes he causes tension among the other Warriors and the Princess. "It's my turn to hold him." "She took him away from me." Blah blah blah. " Take turns!" "cut that out!" Anyway....
So, what was he for Halloween? You guess! Warrior 3 says he is a farmer. Some say he is a pirate. With the shades on, he can be a biker! I'm so terrible when it comes to these things. The King is better at dressing them up for Halloween. =) So, whatever you want him to be is what he is or was for Halloween.
Warrior 4 is loved by us all.

Bumbo
Warrior 4's legs are too chunky to fit into this bumbo. He was only able to sit for a couple of minutes before he started complaining. Poor thing his belly was squished as well. How uncomfortable that must have been. Feeding time in this confined space. Hellurh! Wats up wit dat?
P.s.
Warrior 3 asked why Warrior 4 has brown skin here.
I responded, because the background of the picture kind of emphasizes his brown color.
Warrior 3 adds. He looks like a black and white baby.
I asked him what he meant by that...
And this is his reply.
He is part black and part white.
(duh!)
Half and half.
Warrior 3, you crack me up! =)

Called HOme
Warrior 4 kept waking up last night! He went down at 8 pm. For sure I thought he was going to sleep for 4 hours straight because he ate 1/3 c. of rice cereal and drank 6 oz of formula but then woke up at 10. Nursed him and then went back to sleep. He woke up again at 11, I gave him 4 oz of formula ..back to sleep. That's good. no! that's bad. Intermittent sleep! UGH!
Anyway, I called home and finally talked to Mama and Papa. Glet was there too. The reception was terrible Mama was yelling on the other end...couldn't really hear Papa either. He sounds so frail. It saddens me to hear him so weak and not himself. I don't know what to think. Mama tells me that Papa is getting better and is eating well but Glet says that he is weak and that I should save up and plan to go home in the summer. So, is his condition actually worse than what Mama perceives?
Glet shared with me that when they were eating, sometimes he'll just burst into tears and said that when she saw him do that it reminded her of Papang except Papa doesn't have Alzheimer's. I can still picture the last time I saw him cry like never before was when I dropped him and Mama off at the airport in August. He was sitting in his wheelchair (since he has a limp when walking I suggested that we get a wheelchair at the ticket counter so they'll have assistance..blah blah blah) and then called me to move closer to him. As I approached him ..he just lost it and started crying like we are not going to see each other for a long time. We've parted quite often in the past but I've never seen him let go (cry) like that. We hugged and he told me "AGAN-ANOS KA". I said NAANOSAK MET.
This is all for now. Have to stop I can't see what I'm typing. Breathe in! Breathe out!

A Mistake
Waiting for the text from Mama seemed like an eternity so I decided to go to sleep. After an hour or so I get a text message. Papa is fine. He is going home today from the hospital. =) I hope Papa gets better soon.
SO, who passed away? Uncle Renato "Balsig".
What?
I can't sleep. It's 5:17 am right now. I checked mail after putting Warrior 4 down at 4:45 am and I see the word "condolence" in the subject column. My heart started pumping a little faster. I quickly opened that particular mail and it read..."Condolence ading, just received a text that your dad had passed away. My prayers go out to you and your family. Be strong!"
What? Did she send this message to me by mistake? How can Mama not let me know? So, I quickly text Mama asking if it's true but I haven't heard from them yet. So, I call Glet in Guam. I didn't care what time it was over there. Mel answers. I asked for Glet and he tells me ...she is not there and that she just left to go to the Philippines. So, he asks me what happened? I told him about the message I got from Manang Mardi.
Papa was doing better and was supposed to go home today. Why didn't Mama let me know? Is it true? I want to know. ugh! someone please text, call or email me back!

Free from Edible Arrangements!
Yey! I got something free from Edible Arrangements. I just became a fan on Facebook and they sent me a coupon to get free chocolate covered fruits worth $15 or so. Here it is. We cut all of them in half so everyone was able to sample the pineapple and strawberry. It was delish.

ZUMBALICIOUS!
I attended two Zumba workshops this weekend and I had a BLAST! I was "sweating sexy"! It's the first time in a long time that I came out drenched coming from a workout. It is an awesome feeling! There were all sorts of people in that workshop. Grandmas, dancers, young and not so young, uncoordinated and one with two PROSTHETIC LEGS. Now this gal was amazing. She was just dancing away. She had a free spirit. Hey, if she can do Zumba...so can I!
Our instructor sent these pictures to us via email. His name is Roger Yamat.
I need to start listening to my music and practice, practice, practice.
