Double rainbow

Beautiful drive to Mililani last night. I didn't drive, the King did. Is that why it's beautiful?

Blessed

Just jotting down how blessed we are. I know we don't have a lot of money. Right now I don't have a steady babysitting "job".   (Little K started preschool this year.) Pennies are being stretched.   The pantry and the freezer have never looked so empty.  I could sense the King's "worry" look even though he tries to hide it well.

Anyway, we went up to Mililani last night to have FHE with Gramma and Grampa at Auntie Wanda Naumu's home.  We  try to go every Sunday, but because the King and I had to go to a meeting/fireside we went last night.   (The meeting was for the high council man and their wives...  the KING played the organ= i lob it when he plays.  He is such a teddy bear.  When he is behind the piano or organ he melts my heart.  He is not all gruff and tough.)  We brought dinner.  (Beef and mushroom Dijon, rice and lots of rolls.)  Anyway.. it was a beautiful drive up there.  We saw a double rainbow.  I haven't seen double rainbows since I left Guam.  But yesterday we saw one by the Pineapple plantation.

Alright, get to the blessings already.  Though the pantry is looking empty we are not starving, there is always  food coming from somewhere and/or someone.   Our almost empty gas tank was filled up yesterday by Gramma Goo.   You see, we are all Goo'.  HE sure is looking out for us.    I acknowledge that He has his hands in all things.  We have a lot to be grateful for.  We are sure blessed.

Sleepy?

Warrior 4 must have been hot. He grabbed the manatee and decided to sleep on the bare floor. Much cooler I guess.

Moon bow copy cat

I just want to point out that this is similar to the moon bow we saw driving through this same area one evening. It looked like a bubble. Background of course was much darker.

CTR 5 and CTR 6

I was called in to sub one class this morning but then I ended up combining with another class.  Aren't they adorable?

Here they are being engaged and I had them draw or write what they learned about the temple.

Here are the CTR 5 minus little Eva who fell asleep.

Here is the complete  CTR 5 with little Eva sitting in the middle with her legs crossed.  Looks like she is just meditating.  =)

Here we have the CTR 6 minus little Layton.
They are so cute and honest.  Ask them a question and they'll tell you their whole life story.

2012 Youth Theme

The youth in our stake is being filmed today to take part in the 2012 Youth Theme. Pretty awesome!

Junior Class Social

I thought I'd blog about the typical day when the King is asked a favor.  Here are some pictures of the process.  This was for Warrior 1's Junior class social that took place yesterday.
Everything unloaded.

All set up.  Was that fast or what?

The Gooey Goo Babes are wonderful assistant to the KIng.  They learned quickly.  If and when the KIng barks you better move!   I remember when I was the KIng's assistant......let's just say........those were the days.  Now I just sit back and supervise.  =)

getting the car serviced

Riding the cubby cuboose while we wait for the car to finish. It's being serviced - 33,000 miles check up, safety inspection expires the end this month, brake and power steering needs to be flushed.

I just got a phone call and found out the rear brakes need replacement, need 4 new tires. Can't afford these right now. Next time.  Gotta save our pennies first.

Having fun at the service station.

I Caught Him!

I caught Warrior 4 running to the bedroom and noticed his grimacing face.  Ran him to the bathroom and made him sit in the toilet.  He did it!  He pooped in the toilet and made shishi too.  Okay...I hope he'll learn to once again tell me that he is going to make doo-doo.  yehey!  knock on wood.

Single Adults Regional Conference

The King is here doing the sounds. He left to go to town this morning to buy parts to fix the broken mics, stands and stuff missing from his speakers.

This is why sometimes I think he should charge something, to help fix or replace things broken or missing. Less stress especially if we don't have money to just fork out to fix or replace things. But.... the King is not like that.

It may sound like I'm complaining but I'm not really =). We get blessings when the King does these kind of things. Some people that the King help are also thoughtful and generous. We've been blessed by getting some money, food, complimentary tickets to the Ambassador dining at Polynesian Cultural Center, free movie tickets and more. Anyway...

Around 2 pm or so the Warriors helped him load up the "stuff" in the van. Unload, set and ready to do their thing at 6:30 pm. Dinner and talent show done. We went to pick up Warrior 2 (who was his assistant this evening) around 9 pm. It is now 9:30pm and the King will be there until 11:00 pm. He is going to DJ the dance portion of today's activity.

Oh, and he still needs to write his talk for tomorrow. He is going to stay up all night again.

The Princess is at the Stadium. They had a game today.

Zumba w/ L4 YW

Here is a picture of that evening! Thanks Aunty Carol for sharing. Princess is all the way in the back right (my right) corner. She doesn't like being in pictures.

Grateful

Good Morning!

Little K's parents stopped by thus morning to drop off some $$, pull•ups and some clothes for Warrior4. In the pile of clothes was a white long sleeve shirt ...one size bigger than what Warrior 4 has now. What a perfect timing because the one he has now is running small. He is just growing too fast. Thanks to the Kloeppel Ohana now we don't need to buy one. :). Counting my blessings.

Manang Charisse

This was our last family picture together. I believe this was taken Summer 1992 in Guam. Our oldest sibling passed away December 1995. Her name is Ma. (short for Maria) Victoriana Barcena Tabayoyong. (She is the one wearing glasses) She was only 24. This month is her birthday. August 30, 1971. We knew her as Charisse/Charisma but at work or school she was Vic, Vicky, Victoria, Marivic and Mahal. I miss her. We were roommates for a long time.

When she passed away it didn't feel like she was gone. It just felt like she was just in another island or state. I still feel that way. I miss her.

I'm just grateful for the gospel and the Plan of Salvation. I feel comforted and have a peace of mind. Death is not the end. We will be reunited with our loved ones once again. Families can be together forever.

Been out of ZUMBA.

I haven't taught Zumba at BYUH since the beginning of June. That's over 2 months. However, Princess and I have attended several classes to get me motivated to teach again. I need intrinsic motivation right now!

So, on Sunday I was asked to teach the YW tonight for mutuals. I said yes so this will force me to get off my butt and practice.

My butt feels so heavy, my spine feels stiff, my right shoulder is not feeling normal (there is a slight pinch as I lift and rotate it. Blame it on sideways nursing lying in bed. ) Yup, one excuse to another.

Anyway, it's good that I'm doing this because it'll help burn a small percentage of what I ate cake yesterday. I had several bowls of Cookies and Cream ice cream last night and this morning. Haha. Guilty. So, Gooeygoos don't do that.

Yummy in our tummy.

Our friend Joi Briones Uyehara came knocking at our door with this surprise! A Mini cake! Just enough for me! Hahaha. Although I could've consumed it all by myself, I shared with 3 other boys. Warrior 4, Little K and Brooksie!

I don't know what it is exactly that made this cake super delicious but it was. Need to get the recipe from Joi. The icing was just amazing. It looked really dense but it was silky, smooth and light. It just melted in my mouth.

Anyway....here it is half way gone.

The year 1917

Last week Monday.. First day of school the Gooey Goo babes brought home papers for me to fill out. I never finished because I was falling asleep during the process. I decided to go to sleep instead and finish 'em the next day.

After our (Princess and moi) 4:45 am workout at the Kahuku chapel, I proceeded to finish what I had started the night before. As I picked up Warrior 3's emergency card I couldn't believe what I had written for his birth year. See for yourself.

Scorpion

Practicing the scorpion on the wall after our Zumbalicious workout last week Friday. My back is too stiff. It looks more like a forearm balance rather than a scorpion. Yes, yoga is a process. I accept where my body takes me in a pose. This is my "edge". I honor that fact. I am happy with where I am.

Here are a couple of clips.

Got Released

I forgot to mention that I was released from my church calling on July 24, 2011. I am no longer the Laurel teacher. I'm going to miss hanging out with the youth but it is time to go. I make four years in January. It's time to move on. Out with the old...in with the new. Plain Jane is the new teacher. She is awesome!

I still plan on finishing my Personal Progress so I can get my medallion. =)

STOP SIGN LADY

Hey, check it out! A picture of me as a crossing guard for Laie Elementary school. I did this for 3 years from when Warrior 2 was in kindergarten. So, that was in 2003. That was eight years ago!

Those were good times. Rain or shine. I remember being hit by a kid riding her bike because her brakes were not working as I remind all who ride their bike to walk their bike on the cross walk.

I got to know a lot of kids and their parents. They knew me as the STOP SIGN LADY.

This is our neighbor Mykle Keni on his first day of kindergarten. This picture is from the Keni Klan. Taken August 10, 2006. Thank you Plain Jane for sharing.

For those of you who don't know. Plain Jane was my stunt buddy for cheerleading at BYUH. It just feels like yesterday. Too bad I don't have any pictures of us stunting.

Yogaaaaah

Aaahhh! Just got back from an awesome class. All 22 students brought their positive energy. It is always great to see guys come out. There were 6 who came out tonight. Totally cool.

Young and old. The flexible and not so flexible. Those with limitations and without limitations all in one room to enjoy a non threatening class.

Dripping with sweat, ridding of toxins, lengthening and strengthening, honoring our bodies and letting go of expectations. Calm. Relaxed. Grateful. Rejuvenated. At peace.

These are the moments I enjoy when sharing yoga to others. Simple. Pure Joy!

Namaste.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

BE PREPARED. GET ORGANIZED. PLAN. Well, I clearly failed to do all this. The Gooey Goo Babes didn't have their school supplies before they started school last week Monday (August 1, 2011). Well, mainly for Warrior 3. The high school kids and intermediate kids, as long as they have filler paper and something to write with; they are fine.

Warrior 3 didn't go to school empty handed. Last week Sunday, Plain Jane came to the rescue by giving us composition books, glue, crayons, dry erase markers, pencils, red pen...etc. A BIG MAHALO to the Keni Klan!

So, today we decided to only attend sacrament meeting. We are going to visit Gramma and Grampa in Mililani. They are staying with Aunty Kuulei and Uncle Alvin Naumu. Grampa is still undergoing therapy. He had a stroke the end of May.

We got home from church....made rice, gravy to go with our roast pork and then we headed to Mililani. We had dinner as soon as Uncle Alvin got back from work. We all "talk stories", had FHE--the King gave the lesson. He shared a message from one of his talks--BEING PREPARED. We had ice cream cones, sandwiches or Melona for dessert. Talked some more, laughed here and there. The King shared his feelings of gratitude toward Uncle and Auntie. Then it was 9:30 pm. It's time to go. Gooey Goos gathered and loaded our things in the van. Don't forget the cans and bottles.

We stopped by Walmart (yes, on a Sunday) before heading home to get the rest of the supplies for Warrior 3 and Princess also had her list she needed to get. It took us a long time to do just that. When we finally made it to the car, (the King was already in the car waiting for us) I couldn't believe my eyes at what time it was. Really? It took us 2 hours to just get all that? That is not even a whole lot of stuff. The King was like, "seriously, it took you guys 2 hours to get school supplies? Whatever the reason..whatever the excuse...we just took too long!

Anyway, the King drove. I know it is late and we needed to get home...but he was driving a little on the fast side. Hello. Forty-five. Fifty. He was not stopping there. Sixty. Nope. Seventy. More? I was not feeling good about this. I kept my mouth shut. I prayed that we get home safely.

When we got to the Pineapple plantation...he was going pretty FAST. Police car and a blue light kept popping in the back of my head. When we got to bottom of the hill, the end of the pineapple fields, right before the traffic light....there was a police car parked on the side of the road. King slowed down but we still passed the police car at a fairly fast speed and sure enough...jà vu |ˌdā zh ä ˈvoō| ....blue flashing lights quickly followed. NOT A WORD from me or the kids. Got the ticket for driving over 50 mph at a 35 speed limit zone. Police gave the King a discount and reminded him to stay at around 45 mph. The King was pretty good and we made it safely home after midnight.

What a way to end the day. I need to be prepared, I need to plan and get organized so that our school supplies will not cost us over $100 more than they actually are.
